Our members participated in a pop tab collection for the Ronald McDonald House. The project will aid YSY since Ronald McDonald is the selected charity for 2011-2012. Our Key Club is trying very hard to rebuild, and this project was a great way to get members interested and involved. We had a collection box located outside our advisor's room on our designated Key Club table that has agendas, pamplets, sign up sheets, hour cards, and Trick or Treat for UNICEF boxes among other things all for members to access. Collecting pop tabs is a very simple task, and i feel the project was a success. Many members have donated hundreds of tabs. Each member receives one hour for 25 pop tabs they donate to benefit our selected organization. The pop tabs have been collected from places such as members' homes, churches, parents' work, and even from our own teachers at North Allegheny. Ronald McDonald House as an organization is one that truly appreciates any help, and I am glad that our club had the opportunity to contribute even if it is a small amount in the grand scheme of things. Our donations may help to make a difference in the lives of children and their families.
