Hatboro-Horsham

Earlier last month, our Key Club held a Car Wash fundraiser at the high school. Treasurer Dominique Saturno worked closely with the administration staff to select a date for our fundraiser, which was held on a Saturday morning. All members were encouraged to attend to help raise money for our club. Additionally, a charitable 5K walk/run organized by two students, Connor Nagel and Jackie DiPietro for their senior graduation project was being held close by at Hatter’s Stadium. We donated a portion of our $430.00 in profit to this event, called the EC/RN event, which was held in honor of two 2010 graduates, Edward Coombs and Robert Nagel,  that passed away in a car accident in early August. Although we could not participate in the walk/run personally, we were glad to come together as a community and help raise proceeds for an annual scholarship that will help keep Coombs and Nagel’s memories alive. Our members braved the chilly October weather to wash dozens of cars and advertise with flyers and posters to passing drivers, and we were pleased to see that we raised more money than our first car wash held in May for our Relay for Life team by team co-captains Carly Lyon and Carley Grow. We hope to hold another car wash in the spring to continue raising funds for our club, especially to put towards sending interested members to the annual PA District Convention/Leadership Conference.
