Elizabethtown

The Elizabethtown Key Club gathered on a night saved for little children and creative costumes to fundraise for a cause centered on helping children, Ronald McDonald House Charities. On Halloween, Key Clubbers wore their craziest and most inventive costumes and went off into the night carrying cans and bags: the cans for donations and the bags for candy.

Over thirty members split off in groups, finding their own little niche of Elizabethtown to trick or treat and ask for donations. One group was dressed as Willy Wonka's oompa-loompas, while another dressed as Star Wars characters. The Star Wars group sang and danced, raising over $100 for Ronald McDonald House Charities in all.

No matter the cold of the night and or the darkness of the evening, those thirty members knew they were doing a great service for a great cause. With all of their hard work, they accumulated over 60 hours for the club, and raised $832.32 for the charity.

With the dedication and determination of the Key Clubbers, the event was a success. The fundraiser could not have been done without them. It also could not have succeeded without the donations from the residents in Elizabethtown.

Emily Hornung, a current senior and vice president of the club, says "The event really came together, and there is nothing better than knowing that with your actions you can make a difference."
