On October 31, Halloween, we ran our annual Fall Blood Drive. We used a Halloween theme this year. The Blood Drive is a big undertaking, yet we do it annually. Our school has always been very supportive of this event. This year we made a commercial for the morning and midday announcements, put up posters in the hallways, and had a table set-up in the cafeteria during lunches to promote the event. We held the drive in conjunction with the Red Cross Club, and donated the blood through the Red Cross. The Blood Drive was a huge success this year! We collected 102 pints and 19 double-reds, and had only 14 deferrals. Every donor received a free Halloween-themed t-shirt for donating blood. It was awesome to see how much our school can support the community when we all come together for a cause.
